A Message from Slatington Elementary's Principal, Mr. Breiner
Being a resident of the Northern Lehigh School District, I am thrilled to serve and give back to the community where I live. My career in education started with completion of my Bachelor degrees at East Stroudsburg University. After graduating, I began teaching in the East Penn School District. While teaching health, physical education, driver education and coaching two athletic teams, I completed my Master’s in Education at Kutztown University and my K-12 Administrative Certification through Penn State University. I am currently working toward my Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. After six years in the classroom, I began my journey in administration in the role of Assistant to the Principal at Emmaus High School. I served in this role for one year and was then hired as an assistant principal at Emmaus High School. After two years as a grade level assistant principal, I was appointed as the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs where I served for three more years. After my time in the East Penn School District, I spent three years as the Principal of Pleasant Valley Intermediate School. PVIS served students in grades four, five, and six. I then transitioned to my current position in the Northern Lehigh School District as the Principal of Slatington Elementary School, and I am starting my fifth year serving this wonderful community.
I believe that it is important to approach every day with a growth mindset, and I am a firm believer in trust, respect, accountability, and building strong relationships where we support each other each day. I am overjoyed to partner with you all as we learn and grow together in fostering an academic learning environment that ensures the success of all of the children who walk through our doors. I will work tirelessly to continue to gain your trust and respect. Your feedback and involvement are always welcomed in helping to serve all of our students effectively and equitably.
As summer comes quickly to a close, I hope you get to enjoy some quality time with family and friends before the school year begins. The SES faculty and staff are very excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to sharing many positive learning experiences with our students and their families. Our goal as a school is to help all of our students become the best they can be both academically and socially in a safe school environment while maintaining open lines of communication between the school and home. A great deal of time and effort was invested over the summer in the placement of students and the planning for the safe return of students and staff in this ever changing world. Our goal is to place each student in a classroom environment that will support their academic and social success.
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration at Slatington Elementary School, I want to thank you for partnering with us and for your ongoing support, understanding, and cooperation in making this a successful school year. I look forward to working with you all in this next chapter of the SES story.
Sincerely,
Todd Breiner
