Principal of Slatington Elementary
Mr. Todd Breiner
A Message from SES’s Principal, Mr. Todd Breiner
It is with tremendous excitement that I write this letter to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Slatington Elementary School. I am anxiously looking forward to meeting our new students and families and building lasting relationships with them. I am also excited to advance the work we have begun with our returning students and families while we continue to grow the relationships we have already established. I am proud to serve the Northern Lehigh School District community, especially Slatington Elementary School, where there is an established culture of Living, Learning, and Leading to make every story better. The climate of family, caring, and academic merit is one that I invite you to experience and call home as I do.
Being a resident of the Northern Lehigh School District, I am very thrilled to serve and give back to the community where I live. My career in education started with completion of my Bachelor’s degrees at East Stroudsburg University. After graduating, I began teaching in the East Penn School District. While teaching health, physical education, and driver education and coaching two athletic teams, I completed my Master’s in Education at Kutztown University and my K-12 Administrative Certification at Penn State University. After six years in the classroom, I began my journey in administration in the role of Assistant to the Principal at Emmaus High School. I served in this role for one year. I was then hired as an assistant principal at Emmaus High School. After two years as a grade level assistant principal, I was appointed as the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs where I served for three more years. After my time in the East Penn School District, I spent three years as the Principal of Pleasant Valley Intermediate School. PVIS served students in grades four, five, and six. After three years, I transitioned to my current position in the Northern Lehigh School District as the Principal of Slatington Elementary School, and I am starting my second year serving this wonderful community.
I approach every day with a growth mindset and I am a firm believer in trust, respect, accountability, and building strong relationships where we support each other to do the best we can for the students that we educate. I am overjoyed to partner with you all as we learn and grow together in fostering an academic environment that ensures the success of all of the children who walk through our doors. I will work tirelessly to continue to gain your trust and respect as the SES principal. Your feedback and involvement are always welcomed in helping me serve all students to the very best of my ability.
As summer comes quickly to a close, I hope you get to enjoy some quality time with family and friends before the school year begins. The SES faculty and staff are very excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to sharing many positive learning experiences with our students and their families. Our goal as a school is to help all of our students become the best they can be both academically and socially in a safe school environment, while maintaining open lines of communication between the school and home. A great deal of time and effort was invested over the summer in the placement of students and the planning for the safe return of students and staff in this ever changing world. Our goal is to place each student in a classroom environment that will support their academic and social success.
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration at Slatington Elementary School, I want to thank you for partnering with us and for your ongoing support, understanding, and cooperation in making this a successful school year. I look forward to this new chapter at SES.
