    Larry "Bup" Arndt

    Class of 1982

    InducteeLarry "Bup" Arndt played basketball for Northern Lehigh High School during his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He was named Most Valuable Player during both his junior and senior basketball seasons and also had the honor of playing on the state runner-up basketball team in 1982. Larry currently holds all of the assist records.in Northern Lehigh boys' basketball history and he also still holds the single season scoring record with an amazing 678 points in one season. Congratulations, Larry "Bup" Arndt!


    Frank Beers

    Class of 1951

    InducteeFrank Beers participated in three Varsity Sports during his tenure at Slatington High School as a contributing member of the Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams from 1948-1951. In tribute to his career as an athlete, Frank received the following accolades during his high school years - Most Valuable Player for Baseball in 1950 & 1951; Captain of the Baseball Team in 1950 & 1951; and he was chosen as an All Lehigh Valley Guard for Football in 1951. Frank continued to serve the Slatington community as a member of the Northern Lehigh School Board from 2003 to 2007; as President of the Lions Club in Slatington from 2002 to 2003; and as Zone Chairman of the Lions Club in 2006 and 2007. Congratulations, Frank Beers!


    Bruce "Cass" Follweiler

    Class of 1951

    InducteeBruce "Cass" Follweiler participated in three Varsity Sports during his years at Slatington High School serving as a member of the Football and Basketball teams from 1948 to 1951 and as a player on the Baseball team from 1949 to 1951. Bruce played in the District XI Baseball Championship and is considered by many as one of the best "All-Around Athletes" to come through Slatington. In addition to his dedication on the playing fields, Bruce was also elected Class President by his peers. Today, Bruce continues to play men's' league softball and is the spotter for Lehigh University Football Games. Congratulations, Bruce "Cass" Follweiler!


    Donald "Twapper" Lilly

    Class of 1948

    InducteeDonald "Twapper" Lilly participated in a wide variety of Varsity Sports during his career at Slatington High School including Football (1945-1948), Basketball (1948 & 1949), Baseball (1946-1949), and Field Day (1949). As a football player, Donald was named to the Second Team Lehigh Valley League & earned the Dr. Harry Kern Award for Outstanding Football Player. His basketball talents led him to earn Honorable Mention for Excellence in Basketball and a spot on the Second Team Lehigh Valley League. Donald was named Captain of the First Team Lehigh Valley League for baseball, earned the Dr. Harry Kern Award for Outstanding Baseball Player, and also received the Dr. Harry Kern Award for Outstanding Boy Gymnast. In a display of his passion for athletics, Donald also earned a Gold Medal at the PA Senior Games against 100 competitors, holds the record for the most points scored in the Carbon Senior Games in a single year, and was awarded the MVP trophy in the All-Star Basketball Game of the Upper Lehigh Valley League. Congratulations, Donald "Twapper" Lilly!


    Craig Scheffler

    Class of 1982

    InducteeFrom 1979 to 1982, Craig Schleffer was a three-sport Varsity athlete at Northern Lehigh High School as a member of the football, basketball, and track teams. In recognition of his talents and dedication as an athlete, Craig earned many honors. He was voted as a member of the Centennial League first team on offense, defense, wide receiver and safety in 1980 & 1981 and was the Centennial League's wide receiver scoring leader in 1980. In Track, Craig earned District XI gold medals in the 100-meter (for which he held the school record for twenty-three years), the 200-meter, and was the 400-meter relay anchorman. In 1982, Craig ran in the state Track meet where he placed seventh in the 200-meter and tenth place in the 100-meter. Craig was a member of both the LARC football and basketball teams in 1982 and a member of the 1982 Centennial League second team for basketball. He continued his athletic career at the collegiate level by playing in The Big 33 Football game in 1982 (with 85 yards receiving and the winning touchdown), in 1985's PSAC Championship Game featuring IUP vs. Bloomsburg, and in 1986's PSAC Football Championship Game with IUP vs. West Chester where he caught the winning touchdown pass. Craig was a 3-Year letterman starter on 1982's 30-3 Eastern Championship basketball team and was named Defensive Player of the Year. Craig continued his athletic career playing football for West Virginia University from 1982-1983. Congratulations, Craig Scheffler!


    Vanessa (Strohl) Van Norman

    Class of 1996

    InducteeVanessa (Strohl) Van Norman participated in the three Varsity sports during her career at Northern Lehigh High School playing softball and basketball for four years and field hockey for three years. Vanessa's career highlights include pitching Northern Lehigh to a State Title in softball in 1996, winning the Morning Call's Player of the Year and Times News Player of the Year twice, and scoring 1000 points in basketball. Vanessa, well-known for her speed around the bases, went 35 for 35 in steals during her senior year of softball and was only thrown out stealing once in her entire career. Congratulations, Vanessa (Strohl) Van Norman!
